Public funding

Public funding refers to the funding that an entrepreneur does not have to pay back. Centre for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment supports the establishment, growth and development of small and medium-sized enterprises by offering advisory education and development services, and financing.

Start-up grant is the most common form of public funding. You can apply for a start-up grant with the Centres for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment Employment and Economic Development Office (ELY Office), which makes the decisions concerning start-up grants

It is good to remember that business cannot rely on public funding. Public funding is not granted to companies that do not have realistic chances to be profitable without the puplic funding.
